Chivas USA vs. FC Dallas, 2012 MLS: Draw does Dallas little good
A late equalizer for Jorge Villafana costs FC Dallas some vital points as they settle for a 1-1 tie with Chivas USA.

Instead of closing to within striking distance of the Vancouver Whitecaps for the final playoff spot in the West, FC Dallas is now four points out with just two games left. Another loss or Whitecaps win would eliminate them from playoff contention.
Early on, it looked as if Dallas would be able to keep Chivas USA down. Blas Perez scored in the 8th minute when Dan Kennedy failed to control David Ferreira's shot from the left side. The ball got past Kennedy and Perez merely had to tap it into an open net.
Chivas USA actually ended up playing one of their more spirited games in awhile, as they fired off 19 shots as they attempted to snap their seven-game losing streak. As it is, they are still on a 12-match winless run.
