The Portland Timbers will apparently be among the more active teams when MLS lists its roster freeze on Monday, as they will reportedly acquire Michael Harrington from Sporting Kansas City and send Kosuke Kimura to the New York Red Bulls. The Timbers are also reportedly going to send allocation money to Real Salt Lake in exchange for Will Johnson.

Michael Harrington was a regular starter for Kansas City as recently as 2010, but has fallen out of favor in recent years. He only started 16 games in 2011 and nine in 2012.
The Timbers had acquired Kimura from the Colorado Rapids at midseason in exchange for allocation dollars. In Portland, he made 16 starts but never seemed to be a very good fit.
