The 2013 MLS SuperDraft will be held on Jan. 17 in Indianapolis, the league announced on Thursday. That means the draft will be held in conjunction with the National Soccer Coaches of America convention for the ninth straight year.

MLS SuperDraft’s time, date and location are set along with the Player Combine, which will be open to the public for the first time.


For the second straight year, the SuperDraft will consist of two rounds and last 38 picks. The Supplemental Draft will be held on Jan. 22, lasting four rounds and taking place over a conference call.
The MLS Player Combine will take place on Jan. 11-15 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Unlike past years, the combine will be open to the public with tickets available for $10 apiece.
The order of the draft is determined by the reverse order of the regular-season finish for non-playoff teams. The remaining 10 teams draft in reverse order of the round they were eliminated in, with regular-season finish being the tiebreaker.
