Jay Hieron Signs For Bellator Season 4 Tournament

I've talked about how poorly Jay Hieron was treated by Strikeforce in his time in the promotion in the past. Jay had become a free agent and the expectation for MMA fans was that he would return to the UFC, a promotion he hadn't fought for since a 2005 loss to Jonathan Goulet. MMA fans were thrown a curveball, however, when Hieron signed with Bellator Fighting Championships to take part in their season 4 welterweight tournament.

Hieron joins Dan Hornbuckle, Steve Carl, Rick Hawn, Chris Lozano, Brent Weedman and Jim Wallhead as confirmed participants in the tournament. It's expected that former Bellator champion Lyman Good will fill the final slot in the very deep tournament.
