Antonio Silva v. Valentijn Overeem Planned For December Strikeforce Event

Alistair Overeem, younger brother of Valentijn, announced the following on his Twitter:

My brother Valentijn is fighting Antonio Silva on 4 december for his Strikeforce debut! Great news!

↵Valentijn has two quick KO wins in 2010 and is absolutely a powerful striker. However, in 2009 he went 0-2 with the losses coming in 77 and 40 seconds respectively. Overeem is 7-7 since 2004. Silva is one of the better heavyweights in the world and absolutely one of the best on the Strikeforce roster. This seems very much like a high risk, low reward situation. Should Overeem win they can’t put him up against their heavyweight champion, given that Alistair Overeem (his younger brother) holds the title. Should Silva win, it’s just an expected victory.
