Strikeforce: Could Fedor Emelianenko Retire Following Loss To Antonio Silva?
↵
I'm actually not as shocked by tonight's outcome as I would normally expect to be. The fashion in which Antonio Silva was able to dismantle Fedor Emelianenko was surprising, but given the circumstances it perhaps shouldn't have been so unexpected. Silva was rumored to have stepped in the cage weighing somewhere in the neighborhood of 285 pounds, quite a bit heavier than Emelianenko's 230.
↵Fedor mused retirement during his post fight interview with Gus Johnson, but I have a hard time taking anything seriously from someone who has just suffered a head injury consistent with an auto accident. Give the man a few days to figure it all out. I don’t think he’s done in the sport quite yet, but he may have finally had his fill of the heavyweight division. Make the cut, Fedor. For all our sakes.
