Fighters take the center of the cage and slowly begin to circle. Belfort lightly feinting and Silva responds. Belfort lands a small outside leg kick. Silva stands with his hands down, baiting Belfort, but the challenger doesn’t bite. Belfort leaps in and lands a left. In a scramble Belfort takes Silva down, but Silva stands back up and fires off a knee that lands flush. Silva then lands a front kick flush off of the back foot and drops Belfort to the canvas. Silva follows up with two more punches until the referee was forced to stop the action.
A truly stunning finish with a rare technique. UFC commentator Joe Rogan calls Silva “the best who’s ever been.”
