Bellator 36 Results: Toby Imada Forces Josh Shockley To Submit In Round One

In the co-main event of the evening, undefeated Josh Shockley faces off with two-time Bellator tournament finalist Toby Imada. Imada was originally scheduled to fight Ferrid Kheder, but Kheder withdrew from the tournament after refusing to weigh in.

Round 1 - Gary Copeland is our referee once again. Shockley towers over Imada. He opens up with a jab. Another jab followed by a straight right. He clinches and puts Imada on his back with a trip. Hammer fist from Shockley. Imada looks for an armbar. He has it deep. Shockley lifts him high up in the air and slams Imada down into the mat. Gary Coleman immediately steps in on impact. Shockley may have broke his arm. The replay shows that Shockley definitely didn’t tap, but he may have said something to Copeland at the impact. Gary Copeland tells the broadcast crew that Shockley yelled in pain which was enough to draw the stoppage.

Toby Imada submits Josh Shockley with an armbar at 1:19 of round one.
