VIDEO: Brock Lesnar On ESPN’s First Take
The one-man media machine continued what must feel like the promotional equivalent of the Bataan Death March, only without the knowledge there's a clear outcome to this. Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar did yet more appearances on various ESPN programs hyping his return to mixed martial arts as well as the upcoming season of Spike TV's 'The Ultimate Fighter'.
“(Junior dos Santos) and I had very little interaction. Their training sessions were separate from ours. But I did have a chance to face him opposite the Octagon. It was a confidence builder for me. I could see in Junior that he’s not the man that can stop me on June 11th. Junior is a good guy, respectable guy, I have nothing against him. He’s in my way for my next title shot and that’s business for me.”
I don’t have much to add here. The promotion at this point is all beginning to blur to me, which I suppose is a good thing. It means it’s been heavy, sustained and in your face. That can’t be bad, right?
I will say, too, this is the most press in mainstream sporting outlets I’ve seen in sometime for TUF. It’s being positioned alongside early promo for Lesnar’s UFC 131 fight, but who cares? We’re getting all sorts of ESPN programming to give a reality show about MMA rather large publicity, something that aside from the promo of UFC 131 and the mere presence of Lesnar himself, should result in boosted ratings for a show that’s grown stale over the years.
