UFC 129’s Georges St. Pierre Vs. Jake Shields Gets Spike TV ‘Primetime’ Treatment Beginning Wednesday
Spike TV announced today that ‘UFC: Primetime’, which will cover the lives of Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields before their UFC 129 title fight later this month, will begin April 13th. The event will be a three-part series.

Shields enters this bout with considerable credentials, but as a massive betting underdog. Despite wins against Dan Henderson, Yushin Okami, Carlos Condit and Jason Miller, Shields is regarded as a specialist who lacks the well-rounded skills required to defeat St. Pierre. Shields' was victorious in his UFC debut, but struggled with challenger Martin Kampmann over the course of three rounds. As the Spike TV press release notes, however, Shields is on a 15-fight win streak and has not lost since 2004.
Spike TV will travel to the Bay Area of California to cover the preparation of Shields while Montreal, Quebec, Canada will once again be St. Pierre’s home base as he preps for the biggest event in UFC history.
Wednesday’s premiere will debut at midnight ET.
