MFC 29 Results: Marcus Davis Split Decisions Curtis Demarce In Surprisingly Close Fight

The fourth fight on the HDNet broadcast of Maximum Fighting Championship 29 is Marcus Davis vs. Curtis Demarce. This is a lightweight contest. The referee in charge of the action is Jerin Valel.

ROUND 1 - Davis, the southpaw, working on the outside to start and looks significantly larger than Demarce. Overhand right from Demarce misses wildly. Hard inside leg kick from Davis. Diving uppercut from Davis misses and Demarce lands an inside leg kick. Demarce reaches for a takedown, but Davis uses a guillotine to pull Demarce off of his hips and turned. Davis achieves double underhooks and uses a body lock takedown working from Demarce’s butterfly guard. Full guard now for Demarce.

ROUND 2 - Another overhand right from Demarce misses. Davis uppercuts his way on to the inside and presses Demarce against the fence. Another tip takedown for Davis, this time from the 50/50 position. Hard elbows and punches from Davis on top and Demarce is now cut. Both fighters are covered in blood and the cut is on Davis’ forehead. Guillotine attempt from Davis, but it goes nowhere and now Demarce is driving elbows into the face of Davis to exploit the cut. Davis reverses. Closer round.

ROUND 3 - Davis nicely times a knee as Demarce bends over to throw an overhand. Twice. And another. Right hand finds the mark for Davis while Demarce manages a body shot. The fighters spend a lot of time clinching, but neither gains the advantage. Another knee from Davis, but Demarce does land to the body. Left hand well-timed plus a HARD knee to Demarce from Davis. Davis works on top and Demarce essentially sits. Round ends there.
