Strikeforce Diaz Vs. Daley Results: Rolando Perez Decisions Edgar Cardenas

In the second fight of Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley, Rolando Perez and Edgar Cardenas engaged in a catchweight bout at 140lbs. Again, this was not a highly-anticipated bout and one wonders when Strikeforce will turn their under cards into something more under the Zuffa ownership. Cecil Peoples served as the referee.

In the end, it turned out to be a route for Rolando Perez. In the first, a takedown coupled with some solid ground and pound from Perez did the damage. Cardenas was able to survive and clinch late, but the vast majority of the points were scored by Perez.

In the second round Perez continued to pour on the offense. A caught kick and move to mount as well as the back started off the round for Perez. Cardenas was able to get back to his feet and even catch Perez with some decent strikes of his own, but the winner was pretty clear.

The third round was more of the same except for a nice kick Cardenas landed at beginning of the round. Perez was able to take the fight to the floor, though, and work his game from there. Eventually the referee separated them. In desperation, Cardenas tried to find the big strike that would settle the score, but Perez controlled the fight with takedowns. In the end, that was enough.

Strikeforce Diaz Vs. Daley Results: Rolando Perez defeats Edgar Cardenas by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
