Strikeforce Diaz Vs. Daley Results: Hiroyuki Takaya Upset By Robert Peralta

In the last under card fight of the night, Japanese slugger and DREAM featherweight champion Hiroyuki Takaya locked horns with Robert Peralta. This was a featherweight fight. The referee in charge of the action is Mike Beltran.

The first round most likely belonged to Peralta, who clearly came to fight. He not only won the low and high kicking game, he did so while avoiding the boxing game of Takaya. Later in the round Takaya attempted a takedown, but it went nowhere. Late Takaya was dropped by a combination from Peralta, but the Japanese fighter managed to hang on.

In the second round, things looked a little better for Takaya. There wasn’t much action in this round, but Takaya was able to land a takedown and hold Peralta there for a sustained period of time. The referee eventually stood them up. While Takaya didn’t do much damage, Peralta was on the defense the entire time.

In the third and final round, not much happened. Peralta landed some hard strikes early only to be taken down in the early part of the round. Peralta finds his way back to his feet and looks to land something significant, but fails. Takaya looks for a takedown late and can’t get it.

Strikeforce Diaz vs. Daley results: Robert Peralta defeats Hiroyuki Takaya by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
