Strikeforce Diaz Vs. Daley Results: Keith Jardine And Gegard Mousasi Fight To Majority Draw

ROUND 1 - Both fighters start orthodox. Jardine’s characteristic style already on display. Jardine lands a double, but Mousasi whizzers hard and stands back up. Mousasi stalking here, but Jardine trying to pump the jab. Outside leg kick for Jardine lands, but it’s not significant. Mousasi presses Jardine into the fence and lands shots inside before they separate. Jardine attempts a single and it’s stuffed, so Jardine forces Mousasi to the mat with a double off of the fence. Another takedown by Jardine after a whizzer. Mousasi is landing big punches as he rocks Jardine. Jardine saves himself and lands another takedown. And the referee decides to deduct a point for an illegal upkick. The fight restarts on the feet. Mousasi tries to barrage again, lands some and eats a knee. Two outside leg kicks for Mousasi barely land. Jardine lands another.

ROUND 2 - Outside leg kick again for Jardine and another, but Mousasi lands a hard jab. Jardine shoots without much set up and it’s stuffed. Mousasi lands a leg kick and the fighters continue to move. Mousasi doing all the stalking and cutting the cage off. Jardine lands a wild right, but it doesn’t do much. Hard inside leg kick by Mousasi and Jardine responds. Jardine trying to time Mousasi’s leg kicks now. Knee tap from Jardine is stuffed. Jardine ducked under a punch and lands a double leg takedown. Mousasi uses butterfly guard to create space and hip out. Mousasi’s body kick finds the home. Jardine grabs ahold of Mousasi and lands another takedown with 30 seconds left in the round. Mousasi stands again.

ROUND 3 - Mousasi comes out aggressive and misses but lands an inadvertent groin strike. The referee temporarily stops the fight. Outside leg kick for Jardine and now the Greg Jackson fighter grabs ahold of Mousasi for a takedown. Mousasi gets aggressive, lands a double and goes for a guillotine. Jardine is able to escape, but the fighters clinch and Mousasi gets a body lock takedown into Jardine’s half guard. Mousasi moves to mount. Jardine uses the fence to escape and the two stand. Mousasi lands a hard right. And another. Mousasi lands on top on a takedown and looks for GNP. Jardine postures up for an armbar, but too little, too late.
