VIDEO: Rampage Jackson On Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson
Quinton Jackson was on CBS' 'The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson' last night to promote his fight with Matt Hamill at UFC 130. Rampage is his customary jovial self here, or at least his customary jovial self in situations where he isn't bored to tears. It's fair to surmise Rampage isn't overly invested in the promotional duties this time around, but I suspect he isn't overly opposed when the spotlights are big enough, e.g. late night television.
There isn’t too much discussed in this exchange, although it is fun to see the natural rapport Rampage has with Colin Ferguson. In terms of details, though, Rampage and Ferguson talk about Hamill being deaf (very respectfully), Rampage’s desire to end the fight early so he can drink alcohol in the club, how sex impacts fight performance and much more.
The clip is cut short, however, for reasons that aren’t entirely clear to me. I suppose you should have DVR’d this interview if you wanted to see the entire thing.
I suppose the upside here is that in the biggest platforms for promotion, Rampage can really shine under the right conditions, namely, a fight he cares about and/or a fight the general public cares about. The downside is that despite Rampage’s or the UFC’s best efforts, it’s highly unlikely this event will be much of a pay-per-view or otherwise commercial success.
