VIDEO: The Reem Episode 4 - Before Strikeforce: Overeem Vs. Werdum
Just hours before Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum, the talented team behind the ongoing documentary series covering the career of Alistair Overeem known as 'The Reem', have released episode four of this season (post K-1 win). This episode follows Overeem and his brother from six days out as they complete their medical paperwork, talk to former MMA competitor Tra Telligman, weigh-in at the American Airlines Arena and much more. The video also shows Overeem and Werdum getting along as they politely chat before the presser.
There isn’t much juxtaposition about their last meeting except the context set up Showtime announcer Mauro Ranallo. There’s no footage, no discussion with Fabricio, nothing. That territory was largely covered in a previous episode. This episode is very much about the moment, about the future and about the current difference in the challenge.
In fact, when asked by Ranallo at the weigh-ins what the difference is between this fight and the first meeting between Overeem and Werdum in PRIDE in 2006, Overeem responded, “40 pounds of whoopass”.
