UFC On Versus 4 Results: Matt Brown Decisions John Howard In Grinding Affair

ROUND 1 - Both fighters standing orthodox and appear to be feeling each other out, although Howard lands several hard outside leg kicks. Left hook to the body for Howard. More outside leg kicks from Howard. Nice inside leg kick return from Brown. Brown lands a nice uppercut and a partially blocked head kick. Double leg takedown lands for Howard, but Brown stands. Brown lands a hard knee from the clinch and jumps on a fallen Howard. Hard slam from Howard drives Brown to the mat. Brown is able to stand. Nice jab from Brown as the round closes.

ROUND 2 - Hard outside leg kick to start the round. Brown dives in for a double from wide outside, but it’s stuffed and now the two are clinched along the fence. Howard tries to chase down a double, but Brown escapes. Brown lands a nice outside trip and is working on top now in Howard’s half guard. Howard trying to turn underneath for a leg lock, but Brown sits down hard in position and blocks it. Howard tries for it again and tries time uses it to turn into a takedown as Brown escapes. Brown trying to lock up an oma plata.

ROUND 3 - Again, hard outside leg kicks for Howard to begin the round. Brown times a takedown and actually gets it after chasing it down. Now Howard stands and takes the back of Brown. Howard drags him to the floor, but Brown stands right back up. Howard is trying to drive Brown up and down with big throws, but can’t get it. Jab from Brown, but outside leg kick from Howard. Howard sacrifice throws Brown and it works, but Brown stands. Another throw and now Howard is working on top in Brown’s half guard.
