Wladimir Klitschko Vs. David Haye Weigh-In Results And Pictures

David Haye will challenge for the heavyweight championship against Wladimir Klitschko this Saturday. In preparation for the bout, both men hit the scales for the official weigh-in today. Klitschko checked in at 243 pounds while Haye was 213.

There’s no real surprise on Haye’s weighing so much less than Klitschko. While Wlad is a legitimately large heavyweight, Haye is a natural cruiserweight who moved up to heavyweight in late 2008. As Scott Christ of Bad Left Hook explains, the weights tell the story:

Wladimir is a big, muscular slugger, and the smaller Haye is expected to have a big speed advantage, so long as he can use it. But keep in mind that David is putting that weight on a supremely-conditioned 6’3” frame, and while Wladimir does have his usual serious size advantage, Haye is no small man.

Neither man is known for showing up particularly out of shape and there is no secret that Haye wants to get inside the long reach of Klitschko and do damage while Wladimir will look to establish the jab and follow it with the hard straight right hand to finish off the challenger.

Carl Froch tweeted this picture of the champion on the scales:
