Video: Kim Couture Choked Out With Head Scissors

Kim Couture, the ex-wife of UFC legend Randy Couture, fought Sheila Bird at Axe Combat: Execution this weekend in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Couture was choked out via leg scissors two minutes into the fight. Unfortunately the referee fails to notice that Couture is unconscious for about 10 seconds after she is visibly out cold.
↵The Calgary Commission has announced that they will be investigating the referee.
↵Unfortunately it’s also come to light that Couture was under suspension in New Jersey. Top MMA News has more:
↵↵Couture was, as per the ABC fighter database, “suspended indefinite pending CT of facial bones and ENT clearance upon review” following her decision loss to Munah Holland at Ring of Combat 32 last October 23, 2010 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This suspension was never cleared by the NJSACB prior to Couture’s June 8th fight with Sheila Bird.
↵↵Couture, 35, has a 3-5 record in MMA with one KO and two submission losses. She infamously suffered a vertical break in her jaw bone in her very first MMA bout, a loss to Kim Rose in 2008.
