In the first round of the fight between Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye, both men came out twitchy and looking to get comfortable with their lead hands. Haye looked to want to establish an in and out style and went to the body at times. Klitschko, predictably, was working to establish his jab. Early in the round Haye tumbled to the mat after Wladimir somewhat pushed the back of his head in a clinch situation but it was a clear slip.

Haye looked to throw hard to Klitschko’s chin but ended up eating some nice jabs midway through the round. Toward the end of the round Haye landed an overhand right and missed with another right hand toward the very end of the round.
