UFC 132 Results: Brian Bowles Edges Takeya Mizugaki, Seemingly Breaks Hand

ROUND 1 - Both fighters standing orthodox to begin the round. Nice outside leg kick for Mizugaki and Bowles tries to catch it. Right hand counter from Mizugaki lands nicely. More hard outside leg kicks from Mizugaki and he immediately angles out. Mizugaki drives a right hand to Bowles’ face as he tries to close the distance. Both fighters sit in the pocket and Bowles lands a nice right hand in the process. Now the fighters clinch along the fence with Bowles doing most of the pressing. Mizugaki nails Bowles with a knee from the outside in the 50/50 position.

ROUND 2 - Right hand from both fighters find the mark and an outside leg kick from Mizugaki. Hard outside leg kick lands again for Mizugaki. Right hand again lands for Mizugaki. Right hand hurts Mizugaki and he drops to the floor. Bowles takes his back and slaps on a body triangle. Mizugaki using 2 on 1 wrist control. The round ends there.

ROUND 3 - Jab for Bowles to open the round and now Bowles is pressing Mizugaki into the cage. The two are jockeying for position along the fence. Bowles times a double leg, gets it and even gets Mizugaki’s back in the scramble. Mizugaki standing now. Bowles is holding position, but little else is happening. Referee Mario Yamasaki actually separates them. Mizugaki charging in with punches, but Bowles backs out. The round ends like that.
