Brian Bowles Dominates Takeya Mizugaki At UFC 132

Brian Bowles got hurt in there against gritty Takeya Mizugaki, probably pretty bad. He broke his hand on Mizugaki's face at some point in the second round in the course of a dominating unanimous decision at UFC 132.

Bowles dominated Mizugaki on the feet, landing some hard right hands, outwrestled and outgrappled Mizugaki through all three rounds. The bantamweights put on a good show for the crowd. Mizugaki did enough to win one round on one judge’s card, but not much more.

UFC 132 results: Brian Bowles defeats Takeya Mizugaki by unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)

The fight has definite implications for the bantamweight (135lbs) division because of Bowles’ status as a former champ with two straight wins since losing his belt via decision.

Bowles very well could find himself going from the preliminary card that comes free on Facebook to the pay-per-view that costs $54.95 as a headliner in his next fight. That's if he gets an immediate title shot against the winner of UFC 132's headliner Dominick Cruz vs Urijah Faber.
