Amir Khan demolished Zab Judah in their light welterweight clash on HBO. The blowout win by Khan moved him to 26-1 (18 KO) in his career, with the lone blemish being a surprising first round KO loss to Breidis Prescott in 2008. With the win over Judah, attention now turns toward Khan’s next fight.
Amir Khan’s Next Fight: Erik Morales Leading Candidate, Floyd Mayweather Jr. To Follow?
At 24 years old, the sky is the limit for the young Brit. While there has been plenty of speculation that a win would put him in line to move up to 147 pounds to fight a huge name like Floyd Mayweather, Jr., Khan’s management has made it clear that he is one or two fights away from moving up to the biggest fish in the sport.
“Floyd has told me he is very interested in meeting Amir in the ring next year. ... The plan would be for Amir to have another fight in December, in the US again, possibly against Erik Morales. He could then perhaps have a big UK battle, possibly against another Brit, Kell Brook, before moving on to face Mayweather.”
The bout with Morales has been one that Khan’s people have talked about for some time. It was also a bout that was brought up again by Schaefer. From a tweet by Steve Kim of Max Boxing:

The winner of Guerrero/Maidana is likely a much tougher fight than a faded Morales and right now may be the time where management looks to protect Khan to get the massive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Assuming Khan gets through his next fight unscathed and Mayweather Jr. defeats Victor Ortiz in their upcoming fight, we may very well be on our way to a bout between “Money” and “King” Khan.
