Chat Recap: What Fans Had To Say About Wild Phoenix Finish, Chase Battle

In a wild fuel-mileage finish at Phoenix, Carl Edwards snapped a 70-race winless streak as the Chase battle tightened.

Though Denny Hamlin dominated all day, his team didn’t anticipate a fuel-mileage race – and as a result, he had to pit under the green flag in the final laps.

With no caution, Hamlin ended up finishing 12th. His points lead shrunk to just 15 points over Jimmie Johnson (who saved enough fuel to finish fifth) heading into the season finale at Homestead.

Kevin Harvick milked his gas mileage as well, finishing sixth to overcome a loose lugnut. Harvick is 46 points behind Hamlin.
