Only Two NASCAR Drivers Make The Cut For New Gillette ‘Young Guns’ Class

Gillette is shaking up its ‘Young Guns’ lineup to include athletes from the NFL and Major League Baseball, which leaves less room for its roster of NASCAR drivers.

↵The first commercial for the new class of Young Guns will be unveiled today during the NFL Wild Card playoff games, and only Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch made the cut for the elite group.

↵The drivers join Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez and Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Evan Longoria in the ad, which has a theme of being “ready.”

↵This is the first time that athletes from other sports have been included with NASCAR drivers (last year’s class, for example, was six NASCAR drivers).

↵That means Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, Joey Logano and Clint Bowyer aren’t involved in this year’s campaign. Will Bowyer grow a beard now?

↵You can view the ad with the new class to see how Hamlin and Busch are involved (there’s also some behind-the-scenes footage and bloopers at that link) or watch the intro video for the new class below.
