NASCAR Race Day Weather Forecast Dover International Speedway: Mostly Dry but Showers Possible
The weather for Dover International Speedway will continue to be influenced by a stalled upper level storm system. This system is expected to meander over Pennsylvania and New Jersey during the day on Sunday. This will keep the threat of scattered showers in the forecast for the Sprint Cup race, but like we saw Saturday for qualifying and Nationwide race, Sunday afternoon should be mostly dry.
My forecast is calling for mostly cloudy skies, very chilly temperatures, highs struggling to reach the upper 50s, and the possibility of a scattered shower or two. The center of circulation looks like it will be to the north in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Most of the shower activity associated with this storm system has been to the north and east of circulation. This location puts the speedway more to the south and west. That is why I think we are mostly good for racing on Sunday.
SUNDAY:
2:00 p.m EDT
Sprint Cup Race – Mostly cloudy, very chilly, possible scattered shower – temp: 57
