Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards sat together on the Dover International Speedway media center dais after finishing second and third, respectively, in Sunday’s NASCAR Chase race.

Both drivers had reasons to be upset with themselves for mistakes that likely cost them the race and allowed Kurt Busch to win it instead.
Edwards had a mid-race speeding penalty on pit road and Johnson spun his tires on a late restart next to Busch.
So when reporter Dustin Long asked both drivers about the process of getting over what just happened, Johnson decided to deflect the attention onto Edwards.
“If I was Carl, I wouldn’t get over that mistake,” Johnson deadpanned as Edwards began to laugh. “I maybe wouldn’t show up next week.”
“But you’re not me,” Edwards replied.
“No...no,” Johnson said.
Then it was Edwards’ turn to rib Johnson.
“It’s frustrating,” Edwards said. “I think if I were Jimmie, I would be so frustrated I gave up that win. He had otherwise a perfect day. It would probably bother me all week if I were Jimmie.”
Johnson laughed and turned back to Long, whose query had started the series of jokes.
“Not sure we answered your question,” he said.
