Pocono Raceway announced Tuesday it has already begun repaving its 2.5-mile surface, making it the latest NASCAR track to put down new asphalt.
Pocono Raceway Becomes Latest NASCAR Track To Repave Surface
Phoenix International Raceway just finished repaving and reconfiguring its surface, and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers are at a test today and Wednesday to try it out in advance of November’s race weekend.
Kansas will repave its surface next year, and Michigan is currently repaving in time for the 2012 season. Daytona had new asphalt in time for this season’s Daytona 500 after the infamous pothole debacle in 2010.
