In this challenging economic environment, it’s tougher than ever for racetracks to attract fan dollars. So they have to be creative – like Daytona International Speedway did with this video.
Daytona International Speedway Introduces World’s Fastest Fish
↵The track has introduced “Freddie, The World’s Fastest Fish” to promote Speedweeks action on Daytona’s freshly paved surface. A fish to promote asphalt? Yep. But actually, it works.
↵In the video below, Freddie (a goldfish) gets strapped in for a ride on newly paved surface. And the surface is so smooth that Freddie is able to survive.
↵But that’s not the best part. What I found particularly cool was seeing Freddie’s water tilt with the forces of gravity as the stock car roared around the turns.
↵Freddie seemed to go with what the water was doing, driving to correct his position while his world was slanted.
↵As for the claim that Freddie is the “world’s fastest?” Daytona could be onto something there – after all, when has a fish ever gone faster?
