Matt Kenseth became a father for the third time on Tuesday after wife Katie delivered a seven-pound, eight-ounce girl named Grace Katherine Kenseth.
Matt Kenseth’s Wife Katie Delivers Baby Girl
↵The driver had been nervous his wife would deliver in the days leading up to the Daytona 500 – or even on race day itself – but little Grace held out until Tuesday morning (3:49 a.m., to be exact).
↵It was the second child for Matt and Katie Kenseth – they also have daughter Kaylin, who was born in July 2009. Kenseth has a son from a previous relationship, 17-year-old Ross.
↵Kenseth will spend a few days with his new daughter before traveling to Phoenix this weekend, where he plans to participate in all of the Sprint Cup track activity.
↵If Kenseth had been forced to miss any of the Phoenix or Las Vegas practices, his backup was to be Nationwide Series driver Brian Ickler. Kenseth finished 34th in the Daytona 500 on Sunday.
