Dale Earnhardt Jr. Is NASCAR’s Highest-Paid Driver, Forbes Says

Dale Earnhardt Jr. remained NASCAR’s most popular driver last year – and also its most profitable, according to Forbes.

The money magazine’s list of the 10 highest-paid NASCAR drivers has Earnhardt Jr. at the top with an estimated $29 million earned last year.

Earnhardt Jr.‘s Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson aren’t far behind, pulling in an estimated $25 million and $24 million, respectively.

The gap to fourth place is significant, though: Tony Stewart makes an estimated $18 million. Kevin Harvick ($15 million) rounds out the top five.

Next up is Carl Edwards ($14 million), who Forbes says will make less this year as a result of his Gillette and Vitamin Water deals expiring.

Kyle Busch pulls in an estimated $13 million, followed by Kasey Kahne ($11.5 million) and a tie between Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth ($11 million each).

Forbes also listed Hendrick Motorsports as its most valuable team overall (an estimated $350 million) followed by Roush Fenway Racing ($224 million).
