The next driver from the Earnhardt family has been spending his days as a cook at KFC and broke into racing by wheeling a lawn mower.
The Next Earnhardt - Literally - Prepares For ARCA Debut
↵Meet Bobby Dale Earnhardt, who was profiled this week in the Daytona Beach News-Journal.
↵Bobby Dale is the son of Kerry Earnhardt, which makes him Dale Earnhardt Sr.‘s eldest grandson and Dale Earnhardt Jr.‘s nephew. He’s the older brother of Jeffrey Earnhardt, who is further along in his racing career than Bobby Dale.
↵Though Bobby Dale recently completed an ARCA test and is planning to make his series debut this year, the News-Journal said, ARCA didn’t approve him for competition at Daytona. Series officials want to see him work his way up to the bigger tracks, since he has little experience.
↵For now, Bobby Dale’s last name is the biggest thing he can offer sponsors. As he told the News-Journal:
↵↵“It’s going to open doors for me. I understand that. I don’t want to rely on that last name. I want to be in something based on me and not my last name. I don’t want things given to me because of who I am.”
