Brad Keselowski cracked the top 10 of the Sprint All-Star Race fan vote this week, according to the new list of frontrunners released Thursday morning.
Brad Keselowski Jumps Into Top 10 Of Sprint NASCAR All-Star Race Fan Vote
Keselowski replaced semi-retired Michael Waltrip, who dropped out of the top 10.
There’s no way to know for sure who leads the vote, but a safe bet is probably Dale Earnhardt Jr., who has won the NMPA’s Most Popular Driver award for the last eight years.
The complete top 10 now includes (in alphabetical order because Sprint doesn’t release the vote totals):
- AJ Allmendinger
- Marcos Ambrose
- Jeff Burton
- Dale Earnhardt Jr.
- Brad Keselowski
- Bobby Labonte
- Joey Logano
- Paul Menard
- Martin Truex Jr.
- Brian Vickers
So far, Sprint said there has been more than 650,000 votes cast – which is on pace to be a record.
As detailed in this space last week, it’s worth voting for your favorite driver even if he’s not named “Dale Earnhardt Jr.” Why? Because even if Earnhardt Jr. gets the most votes, there are several scenarios in which he would not be the “winner” of the fan vote.
