Despite running both NASCAR races in Nashville last weekend, Kyle Busch at least had time for a little bit of relaxation. Early this week, he traveled to Chicago with wife Samantha and took in a Chicago Bulls playoff game on Tuesday night.
Kyle Busch Wears White Hat, Repeats He’s Tired Of Being The Bad Guy
Several fans recognized Busch at the Bulls game, including one man in a Dale Earnhardt Jr. hat who sat two rows in front of the driver.
“It was kind of funny,” Busch said. “He said, ‘Hey, I want a picture!‘ And I said, ‘Hey, I want a new hat!’”
For the record, Busch and the fan took a photo together.
Busch was wearing a hat of a different sorts on Wednesday, when he appeared in uptown Charlotte on behalf of Charlotte Motor Speedway and played a cowboy in a brief skit.
This time, though, he wasn’t the villain; Busch wore a white cowboy hat while Speed’s Jeff Hammond played the bad guy. In the skit, Busch rode in on a horse and prevented Hammond from “stealing” the All-Star Race purse.
Busch repeated he has a new line of thinking these days: He’s tired of being the bad guy.
“(The bad guy) is an easy role to play,” he said. “It’s a lot easier to get people mad at you than it is to make ‘em like you. Time for a change, time for something else. I’ve been here too long.”
