VIDEO: Martin Truex Jr., Kasey Kahne Crash At NASCAR Martinsville Race

Gyi0064191507_medium

Both drivers are OK after a scary, flame-spewing crash at NASCAR's Martinsville race. Martin Truex Jr. and Kasey Kahne bumped into the wall during lap No. 220, leading to fireballs bursting from Truex Jr.'s hood. The NAPA driver got out of his car as quickly as possible to hurry and check on Kahne's condition.

Here’s video of the crash via a French telecast. Today you’ve learned boom is pronounced boom in French:

Truex Jr.‘s throttle refused to cooperate, making it difficult for him to avoid driving Kahne into the barrier. The incident produced the race’s sixth caution flag and spoiled what could’ve been a good finish for Kahne, who started the race No. 3.

As you can see, the burst of flame died down very quickly -- thank goodness, of course. Still pretty amazing Getty Images photographer John Harrelson was able to get a shot of it in such a brief moment.
