NASCAR Drivers On Twitter: Who Has The Most ‘Klout?’

Which drivers are considered “influential” by social media ranking website Klout.com?

As social media continues to boom, companies are increasingly interested in ways to measure an individual’s “influence” among followers.

A variety of sites offer measurement tools for influence in the social media space, but perhaps the most respected is Klout.com, which provides influence scores on a 1-100 scale.

Klout bases its score on how well an individual engages his or her followers. The formula is based on mentions, retweets and clicks on links; in other words, Klout wants to see if an individual influences followers to take action.

The description on the Klout site says:

The final Klout Score is a representation of how successful a person is at engaging their audience and how big of an impact their messages have on people.

With that in mind, we wondered: Which NASCAR drivers have the most influence? Jimmie Johnson was recently named the most influential athlete in all of sports by Forbes.com; would his ranking hold up when we ran all of the current Sprint Cup Series drivers’ Twitter accounts through Klout?

Here’s the list, according to Klout, of the most influential NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers on Twitter (ranked by Klout score):
