After Reported Incident With Juan Pablo Montoya, Fans Suggest Reasons Why Ryan Newman ‘Snapped’

One of the best things about social media is the way it allows a group of people to brainstorm and be creative, sharing with others in the process.

That was on display with NASCAR fans on Friday after Ryan Newman reportedly hit Juan Pablo Montoya inside the Sprint Cup Series hauler during a pre-practice meeting at Darlington.

SB Nation’s IndyCar Series blogger, Tony Johns, started listing pretend reasons “why Newman snapped” with the hashtag #WhyNewmanSnapped on Twitter.

The hashtag soon caught fire, as other users began pitching in with their suggestions. Here are 10 of our favorites (in no particular order):

@RaceMonkey: JPM ruined the end of the Sixth Sense for him. #WhyNewmanSnapped

@Queers4Gears: JPM kept on demanding to see Ryan’s birth certificate. #WhyNewmanSnapped

@RacingWithRich: JPM unfollowed Newman on Twitter. #WhyNewmanSnapped

@HMS5Kahne: JPM says Jean Girard is better than Ricky Bobby! #WhyNewmanSnapped

@TimHerweyer: Target doesn’t carry Tornados! #WhyNewmanSnapped

@jpreston29: Montoya insulted Kate’s wedding dress. #WhyNewmanSnapped

@Askthe_Man: He’s tired of JPM’s toy planes waking up the baby in the motorcoach lot. #WhyNewmanSnapped

@LandonCassill: JPM said a ‘Yo momma’ joke about Newman’s mom on Mother’s Day Weekend. #WhyNewmanSnapped

@DavidLStarr: Newman thinks Target’s baby clothes are too expensive. #WhyNewmanSnapped

@SBPopOffValve: Montoya didn’t tell him about Kasey Kahne’s knee surgery. #WhyNewmanSnapped
