Juan Pablo Montoya Gets New Crew Chief As Brian Pattie Booted Heading Into Indianapolis

Juan Pablo Montoya has been a threat at Indianapolis Motor Speedway each of the past few years. But this year, he’s showing up with a brand new crew chief.

↵Earnhardt Ganassi Racing announced Tuesday it has replaced Brian Pattie atop Montoya’s pit box with longtime EGR employee Jim Pohlman.

↵Montoya, 17th in the point standings, figures to be strong at the Brickyard 400 and Watkins Glen and needs a win to put himself in position for a Chase wild card berth.

↵Will the shakeup at crew chief help his team? At this point, trying something different appeared to be team owner Chip Ganassi’s best option.
