Will Power Offers Double-Fingered Salute To IndyCar Officials On Live TV

IndyCar Series driver Will Power was just a littttttle ticked on Sunday when race officials waved the green flag late to restart the race late in the New Hampshire Motor Speedway race – but the track was still wet.

The result was a spin by Danica Patrick that collected several other drivers, including Power.

Livid, Power offered this gesture to race officials in the scoring tower (which was obviously followed by an apology from ABC):

Afterward, Power lashed out at IndyCar’s Brian Barnhart for his poor judgment.

“He makes such bad calls all the time,” Power told ABC’s Jamie Little. “This has got to be it. They cannot have this guy running the show, because that was a decision that put a lot of drivers in danger. You saw how many people crashed on the frontstraight. It was no condition to race in. Shame on him.”

Ryan Hunter-Reay ended up winning the race when Barnhart and his fellow officials called the event due to the conditions and acknowledged their mistake, reverting the running order to what it was prior to the bad call.

That left Power in fifth place, although he probably still isn’t too happy with how Sunday’s race turned out.
