Kevin Harvick Tells Atlanta Radio Station: Kyle Busch Is A ‘Douchebag’

Kevin Harvick was a guest of The Bert Show on Atlanta’s Q100 radio station Tuesday morning and dished to host Bert Weiss about his rivalry with fellow NASCAR driver Kyle Busch.

Weiss, a Harvick supporter, said he recently passed up a ridealong with Busch at Atlanta Motor Speedway out of loyalty to Harvick and wondered aloud whether he made the right call.

Harvick agreed with the decision but added, “You would have gotten to see first-hand just how much of a douchebag Kyle Busch really is.”

The Richard Childress Racing driver, who last weekend revived talk of his rivalry with Busch, said the bitter feelings between the two drivers “just kind of festered over time.”

"It started in Dover in about 2005," Harvick said. "He came across the nose of my car, and I drove him all the way down into the inside wall. That's really where it all started."

Harvick said drivers typically resolve disputes with one another about 90 percent of the time because they cross paths too often – both on and off the track – to carry on a rivalry.

With Busch, though, there are no plans to mend fences.

Asked by one of the show’s co-hosts what Busch could do to redeem himself in Harvick’s eyes, Harvick cracked, “I guess I could just retire.”

“It makes me want to go brush my teeth every time I talk (about Busch),” he added.
