NASCAR: Eddie Sharp Racing Acquires Kevin Harvick Inc. Truck Team For 2012

Team owner Kevin Harvick indicated a few weeks ago his Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series teams at Kevin Harvick Inc. would look dramatically different in the future.

Those promised changes have quickly progressed, as a deal was announced prior to Richmond that the Nationwide program would merge with Richard Childress Racing, and on Friday it was announced Eddie Sharp Racing would take control of two KHI trucks.

Harvick said the primary goal has been to “keep everything on track” with the organization, and with this new partnership that is going to be possible. According to Harvick, current KHI employees will also have the opportunity to interview with new team owner Eddie Sharp in order to “make sure they fit into his company and want to be a part of his company.”

“For him, it’s a great way to build his company with two teams that are already established,” Harvick said. “If he can get the people to go with him, that’s even better. All of that is up to him now.

"For us, we're obviously going a different direction with our lives and business. To have the people to have the opportunity to still have jobs and move forward is the part that we're concentrating on at this point to try and help them."

KHI will continue to run the team throughout the remainder of the 2011 season, due primarily to sponsor obligations.
