NASCAR Weather Forecast Dover International Speedway: Chilly And Mostly Dry...But Not ALL Dry

Conditions in Dover, DE: Click here for Current Weather Conditions | Look at Doppler Radar | Mobile Friendly Site | Mobile Radar

An upper-level storm system will work out of the Great Lakes and move into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast this weekend. With it comes some very chilly air, gusty winds and the possibility of a few scattered showers. The overall forecast is not a wet one, with the best chance of rain being on Saturday.

Saturday’s forecast is not a wash – there will be times of clouds and sunshine with just a few scattered showers possible. Temperatures for the weekend will be near 60 or the upper 50s.

Based on my experience and some of the forecasts I am looking at regarding this upper level system, I am going to mention the possibility of a few isolated, maybe scattered showers for Sunday, too. There are a lot of conflicting forecasts and I agree with most that it will be very chilly (high in the mid to upper 50s), breezy (northwest winds 10-20 mph) and mostly dry, but I just see enough data that warrants the mention of a possible shower or two in the area on Sunday.

I don’t see this weekend as a washout and the story this weekend is not rain, but the very chilly air that will be in place. Dress warm if you are going to the track, and just take rain gear just in case. You may need it on Saturday.
