2012 Indy 500 Schedule: Carb Day Features Firestone Freedom 100

It’s Carb Day at the Indy 500, which means there’ll be practicing, racing and, of course, Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Carb Day is short for “carburation day,” which isn’t a real thing anymore now that cars don’t have carburetors, but the name sticks, and is a good excuse to race. It’s also the last day of practice for racers in Sunday’s main event.
