Jerry’s Final Thought: ‘Put My Face On Kurt Busch’s Car!’

Bill Hanstock
Bill Hanstock is a writer, author and Emmy Award-winning producer. He began writing for SB Nation in 2011.

Kurt Busch is pretty much the NASCAR equivalent of an episode of The Jerry Springer Show. He’s NASCAR’s resident “bad boy,” quick to anger or threaten to beat up reporters. He’s generally a pretty polarizing figure. So of course he’s in talks to drive a car that would have Jerry Springer’s face on it.

Lee Spencer at FOX Sports reports that a sponsorship deal is in the proposal stages between Springer and Phoenix Racing that could end with Springer’s face and show logo on the hood of Busch’s No. 51 car.

It’s pretty much the perfect pairing, but if they’re going to run with it, I say they should go all the way. Fill his car with assorted Springer Show guests. Whenever Busch takes over or loses the lead in a race, cut to the crowd catcalling and shaking their heads disapprovingly. At each pit stop, have Busch’s pit crew chant for him while he climbs out of the car and dances suggestively.

Perhaps the most practical suggestion is to have Steve Wilkos come out and wrestle potential interviewers away from Busch. Or vice versa.
