Denny Hamlin’s girlfriend gives birth to baby girl

Tyler Barrick

The green flag hasn’t even waved on the 2013 NASCAR season and Denny Hamlin already has cause for celebration, as he and longtime girlfriend, Jordan Fish, welcomed their first child on Sunday.

Hamlin made the announcement on Monday with a message on his Twitter page:

“Introducing Taylor James Hamlin!!! Born Jan 20 at 20:20! Weighting 6lb 5oz and 20 inches in length.”

Hamlin had missed a two-day test last week at Charlotte and cut short a test session the week before at Daytona to ensure that he was home with Fish during the final days of her pregnancy.

The driver for Joe Gibbs Racing is entering his eighth full season in the Sprint Cup Series and has 22 victories in 259 starts. He is coming off a 2012 season where he won five races and finished sixth overall in the Cup standings.

Hamlin finished a career-best second to Jimmie Johnson in 2010 and will enter this season as one of the favorites to win the Cup championship.
