Daniel Hemric paced CRA Super Series practice sessions on both Friday and Saturday for the Winchester 400 and while most teams were focused on qualifying runs, the 98 team has focused on their race set-up.

The current Southern Super Series championship contender looks to score another major victory for his resume and told SB Nation what it will take in an exclusive interview.

“That’s how it just ended up,” Hemric said. “We should be good for qualifying, but we’re working on making it through the 400 laps.”
Hemric came here with the same car in September for the Labor Day Weekend 100-lapper. In fact, it’s the only previous time this particular car has competed. Things are a little bit different this time around.
“This is the first time we have our entire crew here,” he continued. “Some of these guys have been around here for years.”
Some of the team members that work for the Georgia-based Carswell Motorsports during the longer distance races with live pit stops call the state of Indiana home.
If all goes well this could be Hemric’s biggest win of his career, but to be in contention the driver has to race the race track first and foremost.
“That’s what it’s all about,” Hemric said. “I’m not even thinking about (what it would be like to win). We’ll see what happens after 400 laps.”
Qualifying for the Winchester 400 is set to take place at 5:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon and the green flag will take place at 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
