WINCHESTER, Ind. -- The ending of the 42nd Annual Winchester 400 came down to a pair of popular drivers, competing for elite teams as Erik Jones -- in his first Super Late Model start for Kyle Busch Motorsports -- held off a hard-charging Chase Elliott in the family-owned No. 9 Chevrolet.

The Winchester 400 was decided by a pair of future stars who now regularly compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

It was a duel between the two most recent winners of the Snowball Derby with Jones ultimately proving worthy of the victory
Jones earned the opportunity with KBM by defeating Busch in last year’s Snowball Derby. He will also compete for the team in the All-American 400 at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in November and the 2013 Snowball Derby in December. In victory lane at Winchester, Jones was most-gracious to Busch for giving him a shot.
Fast qualifier Chase Elliott faced adversity throughout the day. In the video below, he talks about the closing laps, some frustrations on pit road and an accident with 2012 race winner Ross Kenseth that nearly eliminated the No. 9 from contention.
