Winchester 400: Augie Grill and Johnny VanDoorn lead most laps

Augie Grill and Johnny VanDoorn appeared to be the class of the field for a majority of the Winchester 400, but were not celebrating in victory lane at the end.

WINCHESTER, Ind. -- 42nd annual Winchester 400 fourth place finisher Augie Grill led on many occasions, but explains what happened near the end that took him out of contention for the win as well as a close call with the handling of the car and some new sponsorship.

Johnny VanDoorn had one of the cars to beat for most of the Winchester 400, but something went wrong in the closing laps that eliminated him from possibly winning the JEGS Triple Crown $100,000 prize that was up for grabs.
