NASCAR Bristol 2013: Lineup, starting grid for Food City 500

Kyle Busch has won the Food City 500 three times, and he’s got the pole for Sunday’s event after winning Saturday at Bristol’s Nationwide Series event.

USA TODAY Sports

Kyle Busch has the pole at Bristol for the Food City 500, putting him in the best starting position at a racetrack where he thrives as he hopes to win his second race of the weekend.

With a length of just .533 miles and steep banks, Bristol features slower speeds and lots of bumping. Busch thrives on the gritty track, having won three times in various iterations of this event, and also winning its requisite Nationwide Series event as well, taking the checkered flag in Saturday’s Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips 300, his third win there. And now, he starts in first place, a big advantage at a race with short laps - the 43-man starting grid extends just about halfway down the track.

Brad Keselowski won last year’s event, and will start seventh. Other recent winners include Jimmie Johnson, who starts 13th, and Jeff Burton, who starts 16th. Here’s the full starting grid:
