The National Rifle Association will sponsor a Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway according to a report from Tripp Mickle of the Sports Business Journal. An official announcement from the track is expected later in the day.

The is the first time the NRA will have its name attached to a race at the Sprint Cup level. Terms of the deal are unknown at this point but could be worth more than $1 million. The organization has sponsored other races in the past, including a Nationwide Series race at Atlanta.

Texas Motor Speedway hosts two Sprint Cup races, one in April, the other in November. Last season, those events were sponsored by Samsung and AAA.
